Cashier Job Description
As an associate of Kroger, the basic objective of your position is to satisfy our customers
by providing exceptional customer service in a safe and clean environment to ensure the
customer's return visit.

We accomplish this in many ways including, but not limited to:

Essential Functions
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Conduct yourself in a professional manner, displaying a positive attitude,

speaking highly of the company in the presence of customers or other employees

Follow established Personal Appearance Policy policies and guidelines
Follow all company policies and procedures in regards to safety
Tender customer transactions in a quick and efficient manner
Promote any current charitable campaigns
Understand and follow company guidelines in scanning every item
Recognize and become familiar with the different types of produce
Understand and follow company guidelines on B.O.B.(Bottom of the Bascart)
Understand and follow company guidelines on tendering Electronic Funds

Transactions. (i.e. Credit/Debit, EBT, Gift Cards). Also tendering and processing
Cash Transactions, Check Transactions

Understand and adhere to guidelines on tendering coin star vouchers

Work honestly and effectively to control loss
Understand and adhere to shrink guidelines as related to front end operations
Strive to achieve company's item per bag guidelines
Check prices, which requires knowing the locations of all items
Understand the operation of the cash register and follows all cashhandling

policies to help prevent loss

Understand and adhere to company guidelines and applicable law on restricted

sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, Fireworks, Videos, etc.)

Maintain a clean and organized work station

The Cashier may be assigned to perform other tasks in addition to those discussed
above.
