The Budget Coordinator II develops complex clinical trial budgets for industry, National Institutes of Health (NIH), and investigator-initiated clinical research.

Evaluates research protocols to assess resource needs, procedures, clinical research staff time, investigator time, and costs from ancillary departments. Resolves cost allocation, negotiates budgets, details budgets, and responsible for monitoring accounts and invoicing. Ensures compliance with all federal and local agencies including the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and local Institutional Review Board


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Determines whether research procedures in the protocol are standardofcare or a researchrelated costs in order to correctly classify expenses.
  • May provide training and education to other personnel.

Qualifications

Requirements:


  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • 5 years ofexperience with billing, accounting, finance, budgeting, or financial analysis required.
  • 3 years of charge review experience
  • 3 years of clinical research pre and post grant and contract funding experience required.

Preferred:


  • Bachelor's Degree inAccounting, Finance, or other related degree.
  • Certification In Clinical Research

Physical Demands:


  • Stand dynamically to perform a function and move to perform another.
  • Stand statically in one place to perform a function without changing location.
  • Sit at a desk or table with some walking, standing, bending, stooping, or carrying of light objects.
  • Perform continuous operation of a personal computer for four hours or more.
  • Use hands and fingers to handle and manipulate objects and/or operate equipment.
  • Climb stairs and/or ladders.
  • Bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, or crawl.
  • Bend upper torso and reach up and out with hands and arms. Balance the body while walking, standing, crouching, or stooping to prevent falling.
