Info from District:
We have anywhere from 7-9 campuses for which we are responsible for evaluations and that also depends on if the person does Child Find testing for our youngest.
Our case load is around 9-12 referrals per month, however, the Lead LSSP looks at the referral logs and redistributes so that no one person has too heavy a load.
We only assess for Autism and an Emotional Disturbance.We assess children starting around age 3- High School student. We typically test for autism twice and that has reduced re-evaluations for Autism for our secondary students.
Our position is mostly testing and report writing, reviewing outside evaluations or evaluations from transfer students.
We also review evaluations to inform our team whether a re-evaluation is needed and do a write up for the REED if the decision is to not re-evaluate.
Due to the case load volume, we do not typically attend pre-referral/consent meetings, MDR, ARDs or Annual ARDs unless there is a need.
We do not typically do counseling, that falls to the district social workers, we do not do FBAs or BIPs as the district has behavior specialists.
The diagnosticians handle sending out consent and our parent and teacher protocols. Job Requirements Master's in School Psychology isrequiredMust have School Psychologist Licensure in STATE
Must be able to pass a drug and background check Interview Process 10-15 minute screening call with a ProCare Recruiter
20-30 minute virtual/in-person interview with school district
