The Department of Neuroscience at Genentech Early Research and Development (gRED) is seeking a highly motivated and talented researcher to join us as Scientist 2/3 and contribute to our cutting-edge basic biology and drug discovery programs.


The Opportunity:

Your responsibilities within this role will include data generation, subsequent analysis, interpretation, and presentation of your findings.

This is a highly collaborative position and it requires you to regularly interact and collaborate with colleagues within the Department and across Genentech's Early Research and Development (gRED) organization.


Who You Are:


  • You hold a Master's degree (or equivalent) in Molecular or Cellular Biology, Neuroscience or related field combined with minimum 3 years of professional work experience or a PhD degree in Molecular or Cellular Biology, Neuroscience.
  • You have a track record of consistent scientific productivity, including a firstauthor publication in a high impact journal is a must.
  • You have a research background in the field of ALS or related field.
  • You possess key skills: proficiency with primary rodent neural cultures, competency in live cell imaging and image analysis (IncuCyte, ImageXpress or similar), substantial experience in a wide range of cellular biology, molecular biology and biochemistry techniques.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA is $100,200 - $186,000 of hiring range.

Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
