    Description

    We are a mid-sized trucking company specializing in Over the Road Transportation across 49 states and Canada. With a dedicated team of approximately 35-40 drivers, we are rapidly growing. We offer our drivers lease-to-purchase options on our equipment and are excited to announce the reopening of our in-house maintenance shop in the first or second week of June.

    We are seeking an experienced Fleet Manager/Mechanic to oversee and manage the operations of our semi-truck repair shop in Steger, Illinois. This position involves a high level of responsibility and autonomy, as you will be the primary individual running the shop.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform regular maintenance and repair on semi-trucks and trailers.
    • Conduct computer diagnostics to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
    • Manage inventory levels and maintain accurate records.
    • Receive and process incoming orders and manage the procurement of parts.
    • Organize and arrange trucks and trailers within the property.
    • Ensure the shop environment is safe, clean, and well-organized.

    Qualifications:

    • Proven experience in semi-truck and trailer repair.
    • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and computer diagnostics.
    • Ability to independently manage shop operations.
    • Computer literacy, with proficiency in managing electronic inventory and order systems.
    • Physical ability to move large vehicles and equipment as needed.
    • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to prioritize tasks.

    • Certification in automotive or diesel mechanics.
    • Experience with hydraulic systems and electrical diagnostics.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
