Job summary

The Director of Nursing assumes authority responsibility and accountability for the delivery of nursing services at a designated facility.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership for nursing department personnel,
  • Develops maintains and implements nursing policies and procedures that conform to current standards of nursing practice facility philosophy and operational policies while maintaining compliance with state and federal licensing/accreditation agencies laws regulations guidelines,
  • Evaluates the work performance of direct report nursing personnel and provides oversight of next-level personnel determines merit increases and implements discipline according to operational policies
  • Participates in clients' medical care addresses and resolves all concerns regarding medical care or treatment by nursing staff.
