Southern Foodservice Management, Inc., a national contract food service provider
, is looking to hire a highly motivated, ambitious, and creative
Chef/Production Manager forour dining facility at our
DIA Café Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling location in
Washington, DC 20032.
The work week is
Monday - Friday and the scheduled hours range between
5:00am - 5:00pm.
The salary is
$80,000.00 per year, plus bonus.
Responsibilities
- Maintain good client relations and exceptional customer satisfaction through regular interaction with client and customers.
- Responsible for all financial reporting including budget development, creation of operating reports, and demonstrated ability to analyze food, labor, and controllable expenses in order to achieve budgeted results.
- Direct all departmental administrative activities including cash control, payroll, monitoring and collection of accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- Development of daily menu, special events and marketing events.
- Planning and execution of special functions and catering.
- Maintaining safety and sanitation standards in accordance with local regulations and company policies.
- Ensure a safe work environment for all staff, including compliance with OSHA regulations.

- Exceptional food production and customer service skills be energetic and enthusiastic about providing Outstanding Food and Customer Service.
- 2year culinary degree and/or Hotel/Restaurant management degree preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Organizational skills and demonstrates ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Prior experience in employee interviewing and selection.
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to lead a diverse workforce.
- Basic computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, Outlook and PowerPoint).
- Prior experience in menu development, menu cost analysis and production management.
- Knowledge of HACCP and Food Code, Sanitation and Safety Procedures.
- Understanding of basic accounting principles
- Ability to analyze financial statements for trends.
- Create and implement solutions that will ensure the achievement of budgeted food cost goals.
- Current ServSafe certification.
