    Description

    Job Description:

    Exciting Opportunity:

The FMR LLC Legal Department is currently looking for a skilled finance attorney to join the Asset Management Portfolio Management and Transactional Support Legal team that assists the Fidelity High Income and Alternatives Division. In this role, you will be deeply involved in debt transactions on both the buy and sell side, particularly focusing on issuing collateralized loan obligations (CLOs), supporting FMR's Ballyrock Investment Advisor, and gaining exposure to real estate investments and bank loan trading.

As a crucial member of a dedicated HI&A legal team, you will play a key advisory role for the CLO team, engaging in all aspects of the creation, issuance, and maintenance of Fidelity's CLOs. Collaborating with external counsel, you will review investor, rating agency, and trustee feedback, as well as provide Fidelity's responses. Your responsibilities will range from being the internal expert on all CLO legal matters to assisting with regulatory filings, corporate governance, compliance, and day-to-day legal issues. You will have the opportunity to closely interact with portfolio managers, traders, and various service providers in CLO transactions, making the work dynamic, fast-paced, and stimulating.

    Essential Qualifications and Skills:

    • J.D with 8-10 years of transactional attorney experience.
    • Previous experience in large finance transactions, with a strong preference for those with extensive CLO experience.
    • Prior experience in a law firm or equivalent setting.
    • Proficiency in reviewing and negotiating transaction documents.
    • Familiarity with working on complex projects involving multiple counterparties.
    • Ability to make informed decisions quickly based on relevant facts.
    • Experience with relevant Acts such as the 40 Act, Advisers Act, 33 Act, and 34 Act is advantageous.
    • Strong contract negotiation skills.
    • Capability to handle multiple tasks independently in a dynamic environment.
    • Excellent teamwork and relationship-building skills.
    • Strong communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to explain legal concepts clearly.
    • Outstanding writing and analytical skills.

The base salary for this position ranges from $124,000 to $262,000 annually. The final salary will be determined based on job responsibilities, location, relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is just one component of the overall compensation package, which may include additional variable compensation based on the position and eligibility requirements.

Aside from competitive compensation, we offer a comprehensive range of benefits designed to support your needs and enhance your work-life balance. These benefits include health care coverage, emotional well-being support, retirement plans, paid time off, parental leave, charitable programs, and educational assistance for career development. Please note that the application window will close once the position is filled.
