Duties:

Social Work:


Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Serves as a Social Work Program Manager for the Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation.
  • Responsible for the professional guidance and oversight for the social work standards.
  • The incumbent serves as a liaison to Veterans Integrated Service Network Program (VISN) mental health.
  • The incumbent serves as the facility's POC for all inquiries and outreach requests regarding the previously mentioned programs.
  • The incumbent performs the administrative and personnel management functions relative to staff supervised including personnel actions, clinical supervision, consultation, negotiation with other departments, and quality improvement.
  • The incumbent is responsible for monitoring performance measures at the local, VISN, and Central Office levels; providing responses to congressional inquiries; and briefings to providers, VA leadership, community organizations and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • The incumbent develops a datadriven, continuous quality improvement program with established goals and outcomes to evaluate and document the program's effectiveness. The incumbent recognizes gaps in workforce competencies and ensures supervised staff who require knowledge and skill development receive the training to necessary to execute their duties.
  • The incumbent is responsible for all aspects of program staffing, work assignments, budget and treatment services.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Pay:
Competitive salary and regular salary increases.

When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of existing pay, higher or unique qualifications, or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).


Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.


Parental Leave:

After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.


Child Care Subsidy:

After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66

Qualifications:


BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

The basic requirements for employment as a VHA social worker are prescribed by statute in 38 U.S.C b)(9), as amended by section 205 of Public Law , enacted November 1, 2000.

To qualify for appointment as a social worker in VHA, all applicants must meet the following:

United States Citizenship: Be a citizen of the United States. (Non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with chapter 3, section A, paragraph 3g this part).

Licensure/Certification:Individuals assigned as social worker program coordinator must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level, and must be able to provide supervision for licensure.
