Position Summary:

The Field Services Technician is responsible for performing sampling and courier duties for the laboratory. This position requires you to be motivated, disciplined, and a self-starter. You must be capable of spending long periods of time driving without stopping. You will need to modify your schedule and prioritize responsibilities throughout the workday. Customer interactions will occur daily; requiring you to maintain a professional demeanor and appearance.


Responsibilities:


  • Pick up samples from customer locations across the state. The majority of the workday will be spent driving.
  • Collect all pertinent paperwork from the client so that sample IDs, analyses requested, and sample preservation information will be readily apparent to laboratory personnel.
  • Ensure that samples make it back to the lab in a timely manner to meet hold times.
  • Perform all field sampling in accordance with Trace's standard operating procedures and EPA guidelines.
  • Collect samples from businesses and homes.
  • Maintain precise, complete, and legible sample collection documentation.
  • Understand client needs and schedule sampling and courier activities to meet those needs.
  • Assist in maintenance and scheduling repairs of company vehicles being used for daily courier and sampling activities.
  • Assist in maintenance, repairs, and calibration of sampling equipment.
  • Other miscellaneous tasks will be added to this person's schedule daily.

Requirements:


  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening
  • Ability to safely drive over 1,000 miles per week in all types of weather.
  • Ability to work 40+ hours per week including occasional weekends and holidays and have flexible start and end times.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds to carry out daily tasks as this position is physically demanding.
  • Legible handwriting
  • Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Strong mechanical aptitude

Details:


This is an hourly, full-time position with varying hours between 6am and 6pm Monday thru Friday, plus overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The starting wage for this position is $17/hour.

This position is eligible for medical, dental, and life insurance, 401k, vacation time, and personal time upon completion of the introductory period.

A pre-employment physical, drug screen, background check, and credit check are required for this position. Relocation assistance will not be provided.
