    JOB SUMMARY
    This role involves outside sales responsibilities to promote the company's products and services while nurturing relationships with new and existing accounts. The primary aim is to assist Sysco customers in succeeding while meeting sales and profit targets set by the company. This position may entail working unconventional hours (evenings, weekends, and holidays) to effectively meet customer requirements.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Generate new business, retain existing accounts, and reduce lost business to achieve profitable sales growth and specific objectives within the designated territory
    • Identify and assess prospects following company account segmentation objectives
    • Research customer business needs and tailor product and service offerings to meet those needs
    • Monitor market trends and suggest products to customers based on their business needs and objectives
    • Stay informed about market conditions, product advancements, and competitors' offerings to provide value-added services to customers
    • Address customer inquiries regarding products, pricing, availability, and usage
    • Provide product information and practical training to customer personnel
    • Travel to customer accounts, conventions, meetings, etc., using a personal vehicle
    • Facilitate communication and manage accounts receivable as needed, collaborating with the credit department and clients to collect outstanding balances within approved credit terms
    • Coordinate deliveries according to the transportation department's schedule; address any issues during the order process (e.g., out-of-stock items, special orders, low inventory)
    • Participate in company events, promotions, customer visits, and activities
    • Attend general sales and district meetings
    • Engage in continuous training sessions
    • Assist in training new employees upon request
    • Review and analyze daily and weekly reports including special-order requests, customer bid files, and sales/gross profit margin data
    • Perform administrative tasks such as preparing sales budgets and reports, maintaining sales records, processing credits and pick-up requests, creating sales quotes and menu recommendations, and filing reports
    • Other duties may be assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Required Education/Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or related field OR High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of experience in Restaurant Management, B2B, or outside sales

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Proficiency in two languages
    • Background in Restaurant Management, Foodservice Outside Sales, or Chef experience is desirable

    Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

    • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (including no multiple DUIs within the last 2 years)
    • Current automobile insurance with specific liability limits

    Requirement

    • Compliance with pre-employment testing (Drug Screen, Background Check)
    • Agreement to Sysco Protective Covenants
    • Residence in or readiness to relocate to the territory's geographic vicinity
