Description
We are currently seeking a Physicist, Chemical Engineer or similar (m/f/d) for our Institute of Technical Thermodynamics, Department of Computer-Aided Electrochemistry in UlmPhD:
Theory of Battery Aging.
What to expect:
We model and simulate physico-chemical processes in batteries. Our models are based on thermodynamics and describe reaction and ion transport using partial differential equations.
Together with our experimental partners, we develop and optimize batteries, for example in the Ulm Excellence Cluster POLiS for post-lithium batteries.

Your tasks:
- You create new mathematical models and computer simulations for interfaces in batteries.
- You optimize the lifespan of lithiumion batteries using machine learning methods for electric flying.
- You develop novel lithiummetal electrodes in an international project.
- You are responsible for scientific publications and presentations at national and international conferences.
- You support our experimental, international project partners in industry and academia.
What we expect from you:
- You have completed your university studies in physics, engineering, mathematics, chemistry or similar (diploma/master) with excellent results.
- Your good English skills help you communicate in our international team.
- You are fascinated by
