Job Purpose:
Helps patients by providing information, services and assistance.


Work Experience:
Must have 1+ years' experience in Dermatology.

Medical Scribe needed for fast paced Dermatology department located in Phoenix. The scribe will work closely with the provider transcribing charts, navigating the Electronic Health Record.

The Scribe will provide accurate, timely charting of patient encounters, including but not limited to patient history, physical exams, diagnostic findings, lab and test results, diagnoses, discharge instructions and prescriptions.

The medical scribe will be responsible for keeping the physician moving in the office during clinical hours.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Accompany provider(s) into patient examination room to accurately and efficiently document the encounter.
  • Exhibit excellence in medical and diagnosis terminology.
  • Dermatology experience preferred.
  • Document any procedures performed by provider(s).
  • Must be able to tolerate surgical procedure environment.
  • Successfully navigate the locationspecific Electronic Medical Record (or EMR) system to input documentation.
  • Multitask efficiently and effectively as required.
  • Work under pressure, within time constraints. Must be able to act calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful situation.
  • Time management.
  • Exhibit excellent listening skills.
  • Concentrate on the needs of the provider(s) throughout entire shift.
  • Understand and observe legal concepts (e.g. HIPAA, confidentiality).
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma and/or MA certificate
  • Medical Scribe Certificate preferred
  • 55 wpm or greater with accuracy
  • At least 1 year of medical scribe experience
  • Medical terminology required
  • Dermatology and anatomy terminology preferred
  • Billing and coding knowledge preferred
  • Computer Savvy and Excellent typing skills

Physical Requirements:


  • Sitting and standing for long periods of time.
