Work with a purpose Management & Training Corporation (MTC) proudly operates the Imperial Regional Detention Facility in Calexico, CA. We provide a safe and secure working environment for our staff while helping detainees gain valuable skills necessary for success upon release.


Job responsibilities:

You'll perform duties involving general maintenance and repairs on equipment and buildings, assisting with technical trades such as plumbing, electrical, painting and carpentry in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and customer directives.


Essential functions:


  • Perform maintenance and repair of structures, electrical systems, heating, plumbing, ventilating, air conditioning and drainage systems. Recommend contracted assistance when onsite repair is not possible.
  • Repair or replace faulty or damaged light fixtures, outlets and fuses as directed.
  • Perform minor construction and repair of structural woodwork.
  • Perform repair or replacement of plumbing fixtures, washers, seals, etc.
  • Perform routine schedules checks of air conditioning systems.
  • Requires long periods of walking and standing; climbing stairs and ladders as required for facility maintenance; and pushing and pulling of maintenance tool cart is required.

Education and experience requirements:


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical training and general knowledge of repair and maintenance and three (3) years of maintenance or related experience required.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Valid driver's license in the state of California with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
