Overall description:

Coordinate the planning and scheduling of daily maintenance work in conjunction with manufacturing departments.

Act as the communication link between maintenance and production for near and long-term scheduling of maintenance routine work and plant outages.

Participate in maintenance improvement projects and teams.


Key Job Responsibilities:


Planning / Scheduling

  • Review all work requests, prepare detailed job estimates (tasks, personnel, hours, parts, services and special tools) and verify availability. Provide followup where necessary if request is unclear, incomplete, etc.
  • Schedule work based upon priority, material and staff availability, operational schedule and other established criteria.
  • Manage and maintain the work order system weekly scheduling and issue reports as designated.
  • Initiate and develop PM work orders.
  • Updates maintenance job plans, as needed.
  • Update and maintain planning and scheduling metrics
  • Plans daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance activities. Coordinates plan with manufacturing units.
  • Handles the intake and documentation of all maintenance work orders. Organizes and updates work order files. Interfaces with maintenance personnel leadership for work instructions and planning.
  • Organizes activity plans for maintenance work orders and integrate into production schedules.
  • Modifies planned activities as necessary based on equipment, personnel, and production availability.
  • Monitors maintenance workload distribution and performance. Analyzes weekly maintenance metrics and works with operations and maintenance leadership to ensure metrics are achieved.

Some metrics can include:

  • Completed PM's vs
- total PM's for each craft

  • Completed calibrations vs
- total calibrations for each craft

  • Open backlog of work orders
  • Monthly Out of Calibration / Out of Tolerance calibrations
  • Identifies trends and proactively addresses contributors to plant downtime, increasing overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Conducts analysis using Process Excellence tools.
  • Drives daily planning and scheduling cadence with manufacturing partners.
  • Updates CMMS per change control to reflect accurate data, work plans, and frequencies.
  • Analyzes CMMS data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Provides plant engineering assistance and inplant operations as required
  • Partners with Quality, Production, Engineering departments to meet site business goals
  • Tracks planning, scheduling, and monitoring of site shutdown activities

ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Work with Maintenance Storeroom Supervisor and staff to issue and receive stores parts for planned work.
  • Provide backup for other department personnel as required.
  • Participate in crossfunctional teams as assigned to support continuous improvement or equipment installation / modification.
  • Participates on investigative teams and site group initiatives (e.g. PHAs, PSSRs, etc.).
  • Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.
  • Performs any other maintenance job as abilities are applicable and assigned.
  • Is available for other duties as required.

Experience required:


  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in an industrial Maintenance program and minimum one year of planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and methods of repair.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Solid interpersonal and oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with SAP Maintenance module is a strong plus as is experience using Microsoft Office software and Outlook
