At Milton CAT you can hit the ground running in an exciting position as a Growth Sales Representative.

    Milton CAT is looking to invest in and develop the right candidate to drive sales of compact earthmoving products (Excavators, Skid Steers, Wheel Loaders, Bull Dozers) within several target territories across Southern Maine. This field position involves being on the road every day, setting up meetings, prospecting job sites, expanding/developing a territory, converting new prospects to customers and closing business with those new customers. The primary role of this sales position will be to target customers Milton CAT is not currently transacting with. This position requires a self-motivated, energetic, detail minded individual with good analytical skills.

    Responsibilities

    • Maximize the sale and rental of Caterpillar compact equipment lines to customers in a defined sales area and defined list of customers.
    • Analyze sales opportunities, solve customer problems, and participate in sales promotions.
    • Maintain current product knowledge on features and benefits of all equipment and hydro mechanical work tools, potentially saleable by the dealership.
    • Monitors competitive activity and products.
    • Conducts new equipment field demonstrations.
    • Maintains current knowledge of used equipment values and ability to evaluate properly for training purposes.
    • Maintains current knowledge of financing options to assist customers with securing the purchase of new and used equipment.
    • Attend sales training, sales meetings, events, and seminars.




    Qualifications

    • Previous experience in field sales strongly desired.
    • Strong entrepreneurial drive and work ethic.
    • Mechanical aptitude/knowledge is helpful, along with a strong desire to learn our product features and operation.
    • Ability to understand and communicate basic financing with customers.
    • Ability to work on a team as well as independently, and strongly self-motivated.
    • Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations.
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Ability to work in a dynamic fast paced environment and manage a high-volume workflow.
    • Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy.
    • Excellent negotiation skills.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work flexible hours to meet customer needs.
    • Must have and maintain a clean driving record.
    • Willing to travel throughout assigned sales area.
