- Ensures production of quality product made in a safe working environment that meet or exceed efficiencies according to standards.
- Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Works to continuously improve in all areas.
- Reports and monitors departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to manager.
- Participates and assists with Quality Control programs to assure product quality.
- Oversees effective Team Member relations. Responsible for Team Member coaching development, and accountability. Resolves Team Members issues through conflict resolution.
- Continuously communicates with Leadership Team and Team Members.
- Ensures adherence to policies and procedures, including GMP requirements.
- Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
- Confers with production manager and other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
- Fully participates in all safety training and initiatives. Ensures Team Members adhere to all safety policies and practices, initiates/participates in incident investigations, and adheres to corrective action process when required.
- Assists in internal audits to ensure compliance with IFS, OSHA, and AIB methods, policies, and procedures.
- Support food safety program, quality standards, and legality of manufactured products
- Ensure products meet the requirements of the SQF Food Safety Code by reporting to a leader, supervisor, or manager any instances or conditions that would negatively affect the products quality, food safety, or regulatory requirements.
- Back up for this position is other Production Supervisors and Production Manager
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
- Bachelor's Degree
- Four to five years related (i.e. Bakery Industry) experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Requires operational knowledge of computer software (EXCEL, WORD, ACCESS, AS400, E-mail, Internet applications, etc) or ability to learn these skills.
- Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish
