***Under the general supervision of the Facilities Manager or CFO performs activities required to maintain the building and grounds in clean and orderly condition.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitors the appearance of the building exterior and interior by performing a daily inspection walkthrough. Assists in the cleaning and disinfecting of all surfaces daily.
  • Inspect work completed by afterhours cleaning contractors and staff.
  • Assists the Management as instructed with the direction of contractors performing various work around the facility and grounds.
  • Maintains building accessibility and safety by keeping entrances and walkways clear of obstruction.
  • Assists with trash removal and transporting materials to disposal/recycling area daily.
  • Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains facility systems. Assists with routine and emergency repairs as instructed.
  • Organizes and maintains supplies of all materials necessary for efficient building operations. Orders and approves supplies and equipment as authorized.
  • Coordinates and assists in design, reconfiguration, and installation of systems and office furnishings. Assists with moving employees' belongings as required.
  • Organizes, picks up, and delivers items from the warehouse or storage facility.
  • Maintains accurate records of repairs/maintenance of facility and equipment.
  • Performs periodic inspections of premises to determine painting and repair work necessary. Submits recommendations to the supervisor, coordinates, assists, and carries out all aspects of painting and repairs to the building as instructed.
  • Coordinate and assist with the fulfillment of requests for special room needs and meeting/training setups for conference rooms and special events.
  • Ensures scheduled and routine vehicle inspections are completed timely. Ensures that company vehicles are clean and in good operating condition at all times. Schedules preventive maintenance as needed.
  • Performs miscellaneous errands as required using a company vehicle or own vehicle with proof of companyrequired insurance coverage.
  • Protects company property by following manufacturers' operating and care guidelines. Protects employees and visitors by following safety and security policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and attending and participating in meetings as requested.
  • Maintains product and company reputation and contributes to the team effort by conveying a professional image and accomplishing related tasks; participating on committees and in meetings; performing other duties as assigned or requested.
  • Maintains the Hazard Communication Plan by OSHA regulations. Maintains Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) binders as described in the Hazard Communication Plan.

Qualifications:


Education:


  • Vocational School or demonstrated experience in lightduty electrician, maintenance, and plumbing.

Experience/Skills:


  • 5 years' experience in performing a variety of maintenance activities, including electrical troubleshooting, landscaping, and plumbing.
  • Current driver's license and proof of auto insurance.
  • Experienced in the use of carpet/floor machines, highpower tools, hand tools, and a variety of construction and cleaning materials.
  • Experienced in basic computer skills including Microsoft programs and internet navigation.
  • Experienced in facility maintenance, safety, and security.
  • Ability to follow directions accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Selfmotivated to explore online resources.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence is required.
  • Courtesy and patience are a must. A customer service and safety mindset is required.
  • Must possess the ability to juggle many tasks and set priorities. Handson experience with building materials, techniques, and tools relating to a commercial environment.

Physical Requirements:


  • Heavy lifting and carrying (75 lbs.)
  • Prolonged or extensive standing and walking; considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching; working in precarious or high locations (i.e., ladders, scaffolding, etc.).
  • Driving within San Diego County.
  • May be required to work evenings and weekends.
  • Some traveling is required.
  • May be exposed to confined space, high noise levels, hazardous chemicals, and materials.
  • 24hour oncall.
