Description
Are you looking for a meaningful job where _YOU_ directly impact social change?

Clean Water Action is looking to hire motivated Community Organizers to join our team Since our founding during the campaign to pass the landmark Clean Water Act in 1972, Clean Water Action has worked to win strong health and environmental protections by bringing issue expertise, solution-oriented thinking and people power to the table.

Our community organizers will work with our professional outreach team to engage communities in local, state and national issues, informing and educating the public, building support and channeling that support into action.

We have a strong and early focus on career development that involves travel and management training opportunities.

Our grassroots political organizers speak to local citizens about state issues and corporate issues
- informing and educating the public, building support and channeling that support into action

These issues include:

  • Toxic Chemicals: Getting toxic PFAS chemicals out of food packaging, fire fighting equipment, têxtiles/upholstery, and state used pesticides.
  • Pollution: Defending and protecting water pollution standards from industries such as coal and gas.
  • Environmental Justice: Ensuring that communities of color and lowincome communities have the same access to clean water, sustainable energy, and public health that other communities do.

In order to be an effective ally and partner in environmental justice work, Clean Water Action has also turned inward in an effort to identify and remove potentially racist structures and policies.

We want to create a culture that allows all people to thrive and grow within the organization. It is through this effort that our staff can resemble the communities in which we organize. Furthermore, a diverse staff will result in more varied and effective approaches to our campaign objectives and strategies.
