    Description

    The ideal candidate will have strong creative skills and a portfolio of work which demonstrates their passion for illustrative design and typography. This candidate will have experiences in working with numerous different design platforms such as digital and print forms. As Graphic Designer, you will have the opportunity to grow your career by leading design for the portfolio of brands in our multibrand restaurant company, reporting to the Sr Director of Marketing. This role will support the brands of Brix Holdings, which include Friendly's Restaurants, Orange Leaf and Red Mango frozen yogurt, Smoothie Factory, and Souper Salad.

    This position exists to bring our brands to life in an eye catching, distinctive way across multiple media: in-store printed merchandising, digital, social media, emails, and the website.

    In this position, you will gain the real-world skills needed to further develop a strong foundation for a career in Graphic Design and work closely with a marketing team of 5, including the CMO and Chief Experience Officer.

    Responsibilities

    • Partner with Menu / Merchandising Manager to develop in-restaurant materials and communications including design of promotional merchandising materials for each brand 3x/year, including printed materials, social media assets, emails, and website elements
    • Design and updating of menu boards and other menu collateral for franchisees across our portfolio of brands
    • Maintain and update website menu and product images
    • Coordination and active participation in photo shoots for new and existing products for merchandising, website, and social media
    • Support development of field communications for advertising and marketing programs, including email communications
    • Manage advertising production, inventory, quality control and distribution of marketing materials through 3rd party fulfillment company (marketing portal and image library)
    • Execute additional local restaurant programs as needed, including direct mail and local marketing

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Passion for design and awareness of popular culture and design trends
    • Familiarity with social media platforms, trends, and technical specifications
    • Avid learner and follower of design trends – the sort of person who takes pictures of unique designs when you see them in a shop
    • Strong administrative skills with the ability to juggle many things at once and effectively prioritize
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a diverse range of individuals
    • Attention to detail, strong business communication and organizational skills
    • Proficient in graphic design programs (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
    • Photography skills a definite plus
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in design or related discipline
    • 2+ years of design experience in a retail environment, including design of merchandising / printed pieces as well as digital design work. Web design and packaging design a plus.
    • Experience in food service / retail background preferred
