Salary Range:
$22-$25per hour pending qualifications and experience

Preschool and Kindergarten Teacher Summary:_ Robert H. Lange Preschool Teachers are responsible for implementing and designing lesson plans that are child centered and developmentally appropriate. These lesson plans will meet the needs of the individual child, reflect current and professional early childhood education research, inspire the child to excel in their over-all growth and allow for children to produce classwork that is done with excellence and care. Lesson plans will mirror child assessment domains as reflected in the California
Preschool Learning Foundations.

Room environments are carefully prepared to allow each student to thrive and to stimulate critical thinking influenced by a creative and authentic play approach all while best preparing each child to be ready for Kindergarten and amplifying the skills required for future success.

Preschool Teachers are expected to manage and supervise classroom behavior, demonstrate proper time management, utilize all electronic platforms of parent communication in a timely manner and create a classroom environment that incorporates all domains of child development and faith formation.

All Preschool Teachers will work closely with the Preschool Director to ensure program quality and improvement is at its best potential through out the year.

Minimum Requirements _

  • Meets all Title 22 requirements as specified in State of California's Child Day Care General
Handbook; Division 12; Chapter 2.

  • Holds or meets the qualifications of a Master Teacher Permit through the
Commission of Teacher Credentialing.

  • Current negative TB results and CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Possess a Professional Portfolio that includes a current resume, continuing education plan, statement of faith, personal philosophy on teaching and example of lesson plans.
  • Has the ability to guide children in a loving, Christian manner. Teachers are expected to work with the teaching team and administrative staff as a positive and caring community of educators.

Duties_

  • Ensures the classroom environment and surrounding areas are kept to proper guidelines for facility license compliance and the overall safety of the children.
  • Provides weekly lesson plans, arrange parent communication, post monthly snack calendar and active participation of student/teacher/parent web portal.
  • Preforms daily lessons and learning experiences in a creative and intentional manner.
  • Documents and records student behavior, progress, development and growth.
  • Maintains classroom budget and supplies.
  • Participates in staff trainings, professional growth opportunities and team meetings.
  • Maintains all needed data for NAEYC accreditation and other quality assessments.
  • Is responsible for classroom environment, upkeep and organization of student materials, and communicates any needed repairs.
  • Establishes strategies for managing students and meeting their developmental needs.

Responsibilities_

  • Consults with Director on monthly basis or as requested.
  • Works with other staff members to form a positive, supportive team atmosphere.
  • Ensures confidentiality of all school related information.
  • Demonstrates efforts for professional continued education.
  • Follows all Robert H. Lange Preschool policies and procedures.
  • Is responsible for disaster preparedness and maintains needed drill procedures.
  • Report abuse or neglect of children to the facility's Director and proper authorities as required by the State of California.

Physical Demands:_

  • Frequently stand or walk when teaching.
  • Speak clearly so listeners can understand; Understands the speech of another person.
  • See details of objects whether they are nearby or far away.
  • Use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects. Safely lift and move objects up to
20 lbs
Focus on one source of sound and ignore others.

  • See differences between colors, shades, and brightness.
  • Use stomach and lower back muscles to support the body for long periods without getting tired; be physically active for long periods without getting tired or out of breath. Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them.
