Description
Position:
Assistant Plant Controller, Hybrid, Libertyville ILOverview: Culligan Libertyville are a manufacturing and distribution facility for Culligan's commercial and industrial products throughout the US & Canada.
This role will be a unique combination of both Accounting & Finance, as well as heavily collaborating with FP&A, including reporting and analytics duties.
This position will offer great career opportunities to the right candidate, ideally progressing to Plant Controller within 12-18months.Culligan are looking for an Assistant Plant Controller to join their finance team in Chicago's northern suburbs.
The Assistant Plant Controller will partner with the Business Unit and Corporate Accounting Leaders to help lead and own the month-end closing and financial reporting processes for Culligan Water's Flagship and Retail business units, based in Libertyville, IL.
This includes completion of all necessary journal entries, review of financial statements, maintenance of a strong internal control structure, and leadership of quarterly forecasts & annual budget, standard cost roll and physical inventories for three plants.
Responsibilities;Complete the month-end close process, which includes, but is not limited to:Posting & documentation of all required journal entries within 4-day close cyclePreparing monthly Purchase Price Variance reporting and work with purchasing on variancesEnsuring completeness and accuracy of monthly account reconciliationsPreparing & distributing monthly management reports and necessary internal department reportingPrepare the quarterly forecasts for both Balance sheet and Income statementPrepare quarterly Excess & Obsolete Inventory Analysis and Warranty Reserve Analysis, discuss results and judgmental adjustments with Plant & other ControllersLead annual Physical Inventory count for 3 sites: coordinate staffing and processes, variance analysis & adjustments, and work with external auditorsPrepare supporting documentation for quarterly and annual external auditsSupport future SAP enhancements around additional modules and bi-annual upgrade testingCollaborate with the Controller group to strengthen internal controls and drive towards Sarbanes- Oxley complianceAssist in the development of accounting policies and proceduresPerform other duties and special projects as assignedJob Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Accounting from a four-year college or university and at least 10 years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing/distribution/commercial environment.
Professional certification such as CPA, CFM, or CMA preferred.Excellent understanding of GAAP and relevant financial accounting regulations.
Knowledge of and ability to maintain effective internal controls.
Experience with SAP S4HANA preferred.
Advanced Excel skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Must be able to lift 30 lbs if needed to assist in physical inventory.
