Under general direction, performs administrative functions by assisting with the planning, organizing and directing the day-to-day operations of the Department.

- In collaboration with district and school partners, develop, implement, and support projects and partnerships related to successful school systems and pipeline to Arizona State University

  • Build trusting relationships with district leadership, principals, crosssector leaders, teachers, counselors, school staff, and community stakeholders
  • Assists in the management of the department and serves as a resource for the Director regarding requirements and trends in department.
  • Supervises, trains, and evaluates assigned staff.
  • Monitors work in progress and upon completion.
  • Implements corrective action as required.
  • Oversees and participates in planning, developing and administering department budget.
  • Prepares or coordinates preparation of financial and administrative reports; analyzes and interprets statistics, financial data, and management planning data for predicting resource needs and developing long range plans.
  • Conducts and assists with the development of long
- and short-range goals.

  • Develops objectives, and activities based on department goals.
  • Develops, maintains, and implements department policies and procedures.
  • Serves as a representative of the University at state, regional and national organizations, boards, councils and committees as assigned.
  • Represents the college/department and serves on various department and university committees.
  • Acts as liaison with the community, students, faculty, and staff in facilitating university programs.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates department programs.
  • Assists in the design, development and coordination of projects.
  • Resolves problems and issues affecting the department and recommends measures to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the department.
  • May act in place of the Director in that person's absence.

Salary Range
- $60,000 - $63,000 per year; DOE

Essential Duties

  • Oversee support the daily management of the School Partnerships team
  • Support the supervision of program managers
  • Support the expansion of school partnerships in metro Phoenix and statewide
  • Engage school and community partners regularly for increased college going rates
  • Work collaboratively with the Director to ensure goals and outcomes are met
  • Support the mission and vision of Access ASU

Minimum Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND six (6) years of related administrative experience, which includes three (3) years of supervisory experience; OR, Ten (10) years of related administrative experience, which includes three (3) years of supervisory experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.


Desired Qualifications

  • Evidence of a Master's degree in education or field appropriate to the area of assignment.
  • Experience working with K12 school systems
  • Experience recruiting and/or outreach to K12 students
  • Experience working with diverse student populations in elementary, middle, high school, and/or college.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices pertaining to the assigned department.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of management and supervisory principles and practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of budget management methods and techniques.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of strategic planning principles and practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of principles, concepts, and practices of organizational management.
  • Experience in problem solving and decisionmaking.
  • Experience in planning, analyzing and coordinating activities and establishing priorities.
  • Experience in effectively managing, supervising and evaluating assigned staff.
  • Experience in program design and development.
  • Experience in budget preparation and forecasting.
  • Evidence of effective communication.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
