SUMMARY


This role is responsible for working with the Head Esports Coach to support both the Esports and Marketing teams to ensure the growth and retention of Esports athletes.

Oversees the Smash team players and any other games deemed appropriate.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop game strategies and tactics to ensure player and team success.
Instruct, teach, and coach student-athletes during practice.
Conduct video analysis and instruction as a teaching and preparation tool.
Identify, evaluate, and recruit and retain exceptional student-athletes.
Responsible for scheduling competitions and practices.
Represent USV at meetings relating specifically to esports.
Mentor the individual student-athletes and nurture the esports program.
Ensure facility and equipment are both operational and functionally competitive.
Provides reports and documentation as required by the Head Coach.
Conducts events, training, or competitions as required by leadership.
Other duties and related projects as assigned.


EDUCATION

  • Associate degree or higher preferred; or equivalent education and experience.

EXPERIENCE

  • Oneyear competitive Esports experience preferred.

SKILLS

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret information to support continuous improvement.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and listening skills.
  • Strong desire and ability to provide outstanding student service.
  • Growthoriented mindset.
  • Ability to establish interpersonal rapport and relate to individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures.

Microsoft Office:
Work, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Work is conducted in a professional office environment with extensive people interaction. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and office machines.
Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 5 pounds.

The employee is required to sit for long periods of time; use hands and reach with hands and arms for activities such as keyboarding.
