ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the daytoday operations of the investigation and response to subpoenas, civil investigative demands, and other requests from regulators and other governmental agencies, internal investigations, regulatory reviews, compliance counseling and monitorships, including but not limited to:
  • developing case facts including conducting witness interviews and document reviews
- preparing case chronologies
- conducting background research
- gathering, organizing, and reviewing responsive documents for productions including first level and privilege reviews; and
- analyzing transactional data

  • Handles communications, metrics, and reports for the government investigations team;
  • Maintains strong working relationships with engaged service providers;
  • Partners with document custodians to understand where responsive information is being stored and collects and tracks information in a proper manner;
  • Tracks and monitors legal holds and custodians across broad range of matters;
  • Produces information in a timely and organized manner to outside counsel or third parties to meet production deadlines;
  • Maintain case pleadings, correspondence, discovery, and research;
  • Maintain document, transcript, and work product databases;
  • Assist with drafting and finalizing briefs or motions, exhibits, subpoenas, discovery requests, and responses;
  • Organize and prepare exhibit lists and/or privilege logs;
  • Manage case calendar;
  • Correspond with clients, counsel, court clerks, expert witnesses, and/or vendors;
  • Assist with trial site preparation and attend trials;
  • Citecheck briefs and memoranda;
  • Perform Lexis and Westlaw legal research;
  • Perform PACER, Courtlink, and ECF docket management tasks;
  • All members of the firm are encouraged to participate in our Global Citizenship program; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate document retrieval, review, organization, and production in adherence to strict deadlines;
  • Acts as liaison between litigation support, discovery attorneys, IT, service providers, outside counsel, and other team members;
  • Identifies and oversees the team's use of software tools or products to manage cases, drive efficiencies, memorialize investigative steps, and maintain relevant work product; and
  • Supervise temporary staff, as needed.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational and communication (oral and written) skills;
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fastpaced environment, with or without direct supervision, and coordinate multiple projects;
  • Exceptional problemsolving skills, critical thinking abilities and the ability to work well under pressure;
  • Flexibility for additional hours and willingness to travel, as needed;
  • Cite checking and blue book skills; and
  • Strong knowledge of litigation support databases, i.e., Concordance, Relativity, and LiveNote, as well as Microsoft products;
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Ten (10)+ years of litigation experience preferred;
  • Environmental crimes experience and large law firm experience highly desirable;
  • Bachelor's degree required; and
  • Paralegal certificate preferred.

HOURS
Core hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., including one hour for lunch, with overtime as required.
