A Weatherization Retrofit Installer Crew Leader takes responsibility for the Retrofit Installer's completion of the "weatherization" or "carpentry" portion of the scope of work" on homes which have received a weatherization energy audit or other inspection.

Department of Energy (DOE) and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources/Division of Energy program guidelines, Building Performance Institute (BPI) protocols, the Standard Work Specifications (SWS) and JFCAC policies and procedures.

A Weatherization Crew Leader will also be able to provide training of contractors and oversee the implementation of lead safe practices when working in pre 1978 homes.

• The Weatherization Retrofit Installer Crew Leader will oversee and Implement "weatherization" work requirements and carpentry recommendations provided by the agency, on a "scope of work" generated for each home receiving weatherization services.
• The Weatherization Retrofit Installer Crew Leader will oversee and perform the installation of items such as insulation, windows, doors, air sealing, vapor barriers, smoke alarms, and other items deemed necessary to reduce the energy burden in low-income residences.
• The Weatherization Retrofit Installer Crew Leader will must be willing to enter confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces to perform tasks.
• The Weatherization Retrofit Installer Crew Leader will utilize all personal protective equipment (PPE) as appropriate for each situation and ensure Retrofit Installers are following safety guidelines.
• The Weatherization Retrofit Installer Crew Leader will be responsible for the proper use, maintenance and care of tools, vehicles, supplies and equipment assigned.
• As the agency representative to the public, provide the customer, contractor and JFCAC with clear and concise correspondence, interaction and reporting as needed for the most effective Quality Assurance (QA) and project experience for each.
• Abide by all agency personnel policies, time management requirements, and perform all duties as assigned.
• Manage Retrofit Installers on the job site.
• Manage the overall work flow and safety of assigned weatherization scope of work tasks.

• High school diploma or GED (Additional college, trade, or related training preferred)
• Must have a valid driver's license and automobile insurance, and possess and maintain a clear driving record.
• Must have at least one year of experience in construction, home maintenance, HVAC, or energy management.
• Must obtain OSHA 10 certification within 90 days.
• Must obtain Confined Spaces Certification within 90 days.
• Must obtain BPI Building Science Principals Certificate within 90 days.
• Must obtain Lead Safe Renovation and Repair Certification within 6 months of hire.
• Must poses the (BPI) Retrofit Installer Technician Certification.
• Must obtain the (BPI) Crew Leader Certification within one year.

• Must possess good written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills, and good analytical and reporting skills.
• Must be able to safely operate hand tools, calculate math and read a tape measure.
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word and Excel)
• Strong attention to detail and customer service.
• Must be a problem-solver, with the ability to think and problem solve on your feet.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs., reach overhead, walk on roofs, drive a vehicle, climb a two-story ladder, and climb through 24" square opening entering attics or crawl spaces.
• Must be able to remain on your feet for several hours.
