Vanille Patisserie is a gourmet, high-end French pastry shop in the heart of Chicago; Vanille creates artful pastries that combine classic European traditions with modern flavors for the contemporary palette.

Vanille is a luxury brand that provides a variety of carefully crafted creations, handmade chocolates and candies, delicious entremets (mousse cakes), luscious tarts, and American style cakes, including custom occasion and Wedding cakes.

Experience: 2-3 years decorating experience required


Job Requirements:

• Cake decorator with experience working directly with wedding cakes, tiered cakes, cupcakes, cookies, advanced piping skills, and buttercream and fondant decoration
• Must have the ability to interpret, understand and follow order forms, sketches, images, and client communications while producing works of art utilizing pastry skills
• Must be excited and passionate about creative cake design and other creative possibilities
• Selfregulating and internally motivated, energetic, and reliable, with a detailoriented mindset
• Able to work quickly with accuracy; possess strong multitasking skills
• Able to work the hours necessary to fulfill orders during busy weeks and seasons

Job Functions:

• Complete cake orders to Vanille standards
• Build cakes in all sizes
• Create decorations as it pertains to custom cakes, fondant pieces, and buttercream accents
• Execute flawless design, fine crafted details, and intricate designs
• Offer creative input and ideas
• Assist in delivery and set up of wedding cakes, as needed
