As a Billing Specialist, you will:
- Oversee client accounts and addressing / resolving client questions / issues relating to invoices.
- Process and post incoming customer payments in EHR system; issue receipts and statements.
- Prepare manual and systemgenerated monthly statements for direct client care services and insurance claims.
- Responsible for Self-Pay month and yearend close process, ensure completeness and accuracy before posting Self-Pay cycle in EHR system.
- Maintain accounts receivable aging and follow up on any past due balances.
- Monitor insurance balances and follow up on outstanding claims.
- Ensure all clients remain informed of their outstanding balances and deadlines; set up payment plans for pastdue accounts.
- Work to resolve processing errors or missing information with Clinical Services department.
- The employee in this position must be able to ensure that all related duties are timely, accurately entered, and complete to ensure accurate client billing and monthend reporting.
- This role requires the ability to handle confidential client information in accordance with HIPPA guidelines.
- Provide general support to the Finance Director and Senior Accountant on various adhoc projects.

- Proven experience as a Billing Specialist,
- Possess working knowledge of medical billing practices.
- Great customer service skills, including interpersonal conversation, patience, and empathy.
- Demonstrated dependability and ability to work autonomously.
- Adherence to laws and best practices regarding dealing with clients and confidential data.
- Maintain excellent communication and strong working relationships with families, clinicians, and care managers; respond to each constituent in a timely manner.
- Organized, strong timemanagement skills and able to meet deadlines.
- Possess strong attention to detail.
- Good problemsolver, analytical, and have excellent technical skills.
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple activities.
- Proficient in English.
- Experience with using an EHR System.
- Perform other related duties as required as assigned.
About your background (education/experience);
- 2+
years' experience working in a Billing Specialist role. - Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and EHR software.
- Position will be primarily remote, must be a selfstarter and work independently.
- High school diploma / GED or equivalent required; associate degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Non-Exempt fulltime position Monday through Friday.
- Located at our Palo Alto site.
- Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Occasional lifting, moving, and/or setting up of documents or other materials on the office.
- Flexibility required in work schedule to meet crucial financial reporting deadlines at monthend and yearend.
Compensation:
Range:
$65,000- $72,000 annually
($31.25-$34.62 per hour)
