    Essential Job Functions: 1. Prepares, examines, or analyzes accounting and financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to procedural standards.

    • Analyzes business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses provide advice to college leadership.
    • Assists with the preparation of complex spreadsheets College performance measurements and all data, charts, and graphs.
    • Reviews operating budgets to analyze trends affecting budget needs and advise college leadership of corrective action when needed.
    • Compiles and analyzes accounting records and other data to assist college leadership in determining financial resources required to implement a project.
    • Provides advice and/or technical assistance with cost analysis, fiscal allocation, and budget preparation.
    • Seeks new ways to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase profits.
    • Completes special projects as assigned.
    • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

    Knowledge:

    • Economics and Accounting - Working knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
    • English Language - General knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
    • Administration and Management - General knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, budgeting, human resources modeling, leadership technique, and/or coordination of people and resources.
    • Customer and Personal Service - General knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of user satisfaction.

    Abilities:

    • Mathematical Reasoning - The ability to choose the right mathematical methods or formulas to solve a problem.
    • Number Facility - The ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly.
    • Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
    • Inductive Reasoning - The ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
    • Information Ordering - The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations).
    • Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Near Vision - Must be able to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
    • Speech Recognition - Must be able to identify and understand the speech of another person.
    • Speech Clarity - Must be able to speak clearly so others can understand you.
    • May be required to work nights or weekends.
    • May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.
    • May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, to include but not limited to pens, pencils, mobile devices, and computer keyboards.

    Bachelor's Degree Major (if required):

    Required Experience:
    Four (4) to six (6) years of accounting-related experience


    Preferred Qualifications:
    Previous experience in an academic setting, preferably higher education.
