Nestled in the stunning San Bernardino National Forest, we offer a nurturing and fun-filled environment for children and adults with developmental and physical disabilities, including autism, ADHD, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and Down syndrome.


Join Our Team for a Summer of Fun and Fulfillment:

AbilityFirst is looking for a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our vibrant team for an exciting summer camp experience This unique position offers the opportunity to work closely with individuals with special needs in a supportive and dynamic environment.


What You'll Do:


  • Engage in precamp Supervisor/Program Staff Training
  • Lead training sessions for camp staff
  • Ensure adherence to our Camp Nursing Manual and Physician's Standing Orders
  • Coordinate closely with the Camp Director and Unit Directors on camper care and concerns
  • Manage all medical care for assigned campers and staff, maintaining detailed and current nursing notes
  • Oversee the distribution and documentation of campers and staff
  • Collaborate with a fellow RN on all significant medical issues
  • Provide critical support in emergencies, adapting to multiple roles as needed
  • Wrap up duties include reports, medical inventory, and ensuring all records are complete

Who You Are:


  • Must have a valid and current California Nursing License
  • Prior experience with individuals with special needs or camp environments is highly desirable
  • Current CPR certification required
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities in line with AbilityFirst's standards and policies
  • Physical capability to lift up to 75lbs and manage rigorous daily care tasks
  • Ability to participate fully in camp life, residing onsite during camp sessions
