Develop and execute integrated communications strategies that span internal and external audiences to foster alignment and proactively shape stakeholder perceptions.


  • Create and implement a national/regional/local media relations strategy. Responsible for building, strengthening, and managing relations with traditional/digital media outlets. Coordinate and manage interviews, speaking engagements, press conferences, and press coverage. Lead crisis communications.
  • Develop and advance the thought leadership and voice of the President and CEO and other members of the Leadership Team including speaking engagements, media interviews, media preparation and internal communications.
  • Support the Social Media/Digital Content Specialist with stories and initiatives to be shared on social media and the website.
  • Support the Director of Events & Community Engagement with event communications.
  • Strategize, develop, and implement internal communications to keep employees informed and inspired. Responsible for management of Sixteenth Street's intranet.
  • Work with Sixteenth Street departments and programs to create and execute internal and external collateral materials and communications initiatives that support and enhance SSCHC's brand message and image.
  • Work with Operations team to ensure all patient communications are written and designed with appropriate health literacy.
  • Responsible for exterior signage at all new and existing sites.
  • Update and enforce editorial, graphic, and branding standards for all Sixteenth Street communications/materials.
  • Assure outreach materials comply with and support quality accreditation and donor recognition requirements such as Joint Commission, Patient Centered Medical Home and United Way.
  • Carry out duties in both Spanish and English.
  • Comply with the Sixteenth Street TB Control Plan including PPD testing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field required.
  • Five (5) years of communication and organizational writing experience. Deep knowledge in public relations, marketing strategies, and internal communications. Experience in nonprofit a plus.
  • Excellent English grammar.
  • Natural storyteller with excellent speaking, writing, and editing skills. Able to easily distill messages into believable, actionable content.
  • Experience creating and running integrated, multichannel campaigns.
  • Strong analytical skills and a resultsdriven mindset, with the ability to develop performance management dashboards and models, translate data and information into actionable insights, and work with teammates to deliver strong results.
  • Strong business knowledge with a demonstrated ability to understand how to use communications to drive business strategy.
  • Ability to quickly build trust and influence with leaders and collaborators at all levels.
  • Experience designing digitized images, bullets, chart, image maps and other graphics.
  • Ability to plan and organize multiple tasks while working as part of a team.
  • Ability to relate well to people from diverse ethnic/cultural and educational backgrounds and to craft messages as such in an informative and innovative manner.
  • Skilled use of Microsoft Word, Publisher, Canva, and Outlook; basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
  • Ability to deal with the public and staff in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Valid Wisconsin driver's license, use of an automobile, and current automobile insurance.
