Contract Management Specialist - Arlington, Virginia

Background:

Position Summary:


The Acquisitions Contract Management Specialist at the Foreign Service Institute will oversee the tracking of contract funding, including projecting shortfalls and overages, to ensure efficient resource allocation.

This position will advocate for program enhancements, document program changes, and secure leadership approvals while providing strategic, technical, and programmatic support to the acquisition program office.

Responsibilities also include collaborating with other offices, creating and reviewing documentation for compliance, and assisting with reporting requirements and special assignments, all to uphold the highest standards of contract management and program effectiveness.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 710 years supporting Civilian and/or DOD agencies
  • High level knowledge of FAR regulations
  • Experience in program management (e.g., budgeting, scheduling, contracting).
  • Ability to independently prioritize in order to meet competing deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and productively as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Experience creating/drafting project papers, reports and briefings.
  • Experience working in a highly diverse cultural setting.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products with focus on Word and Excel
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to meets deadlines.
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to present yourself professionally and confidently.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Track funding of various contracts to include projections of shortfalls and overages.
  • Advocate for the program, develop and document program changes/plans/processes, and garner leadership approvals.
  • Provide strategic, technical, and programmatic support to the acquisition program office.
  • Participate in development of annual spending plans for program office.
  • Create and maintain complicated Excel spreadsheets for use internally as well as in other program offices.
  • Collaborate with other appropriate offices in gathering and analyzing facts and data related to contract management.
  • Formulate conclusions and present them in organized and defendable fashion.
  • Review documentation for compliance with applicable law, policy, and regulation.
  • Advise on issues of concern presented from other offices.
  • Develop management and/or program evaluation plans, procedures, and methodology.
  • Work closely under the direction of office senior management to support contract administration responsibilities.
  • Assist senior office staff with management of annual reporting requirements for various programs to include, government purchase cards, internal controls, etc.
  • May be called upon to assist and collaborate on special assignments.
