Job Summary:

This position strategically manages incoming raw materials, supplies, and backhauls and ships finished products to storage and/or customers.


Responsibilities:


  • Arranges for incoming shipment of raw ingredients, supplies, and finished goods. Schedule incoming deliveries and outbound shipments with a focus on timeliness and accuracy.
  • Manage the process of receiving raw materials.
  • Manage the inventory, organization, and stock rotation of all ingredients in the warehouse. Collaborate with the warehouse to ensure all raw materials are available in the proper location for daily production, i.e., ingredients, labels, boxes, etc.
  • Manage the 'thawing' schedule to organize and coordinate product batches of raw materials to be used in production.
  • Responsible for coordinating the transportation of products that are ready to be stored or shipped with attention to counts, labeling, dates, and accurate inventory
  • Coordinate customer pickups with attention to products already in storage vs. products being produced.
  • Generate Bill of Lading (BOL) for all outbound shipments and pickups
  • Identify and negotiate with transportation and shipping companies for prices and services.
  • Ensure the scrap 'waste' pickup is appropriately handled.
  • Manage department staff of shipping, warehouse, and forklift drivers with respect to strategic and proactive hiring, performance management, disciplinary action, and termination of employment practices. Identify and provide coaching and training to enhance employee professional development and value to the Company.
  • Other job duties as assigned

Education/Experience:


  • Minimum of 3 years of proven effectiveness in a logistics management role, preferably within a food manufacturing environment
  • A college degree is preferred
  • 2 years of experience in a transportation environment
  • Knowledge of GMP in Manufacturing, Packing, or Holding Human Food, as well as a thorough
