- Must be an excellent communicator and leader to establish and maintain working relationships with different stakeholders, including owners, managers, estimators, engineers, subcontractors, supervisors, and production workers.
- Must have experience and knowledge of government contracts, estimating methods, project scheduling, and be comfortable negotiating contract changes with the customer.
- Must have experience onboard ships as well as experience with traditional marine engineering and shipboard equipment.
- The Project Manager will need to read and understand complex work specifications, diagrams, blueprints, technical manuals, test procedures, and NAVSEA Standard Items.
- Must be knowledgeable of Project Management principles such as scheduling and work sequencing, risk management, performance management, earned value, and change management.
- Must be effective in scheduling and coordinating multiple resources such as labor, equipment, material, and subcontract support.
- Must be capable of leading daily and weekly meetings with all stakeholders ranging from executive management to customers.
- These meetings may include production meetings, weekly progress meetings, conferences, and formal reviews.
- A minimum 3-10 years of experience is recommended
- Manage large and multiple sized complex ship repair projects ranging in the $100k-$100M range.
- The excellent communicator and can function autonomously with minimal oversight
- Will be excellent with the use of MS Office products including the ability to generate complex production schedules.
- Will interact with the customer with no oversight, including complex contract negotiations.
- Deep knowledge of financial project management is mandatory.
- Ability to summarize project status on multiple projects to senior executives is a requirement
- A college degree mandatory, or equivalent experience considered, specifically related to ship repair or shipbuilding.
- A PMP or similar certification is highly desirable.
