12S is a 24 bed solid tumor, palliative and hospice care unit here at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center. We are one of the very few designated inpatient oncology units that are qualified to deliver multiple forms of chemotherapy in Wisconsin. As a quaternary hospital, we are honored to provide specialized oncology care to highly acute, cancer patients from all over the nation and world. The greatest thing about oncology nursing is the relationships you develop with your patients as they come in for their routine chemotherapy. We see patients from the beginning of their cancer journey until the end of their journey. Our staff members are highly engaged in community service events including visiting Zilber hospice patients during the holidays and donating items, community run/walk events, etc. Our patient outcomes surpass the benchmarks set by NDNQI in all four of the major nurse sensitive indicators. If you are interested in providing highly acute, specialized, quality care in oncology, we have a spot for you on 12S
