Job Summary:


  • Maintains database by entering new and updated customer and insurance information after sample are processed in laboratory. Assure 100% accuracy with regards to content and spelling. Organize cases by type and ready for daily filing. Requires outreach to customers/clinics to validate incomplete information.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Prepares source data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information; establishing entry priorities.
  • Processes customer and insurance source documents by reviewing data for deficiencies; resolving discrepancies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the team leader for resolution.
  • Enters customer and insurance data after samples are processed by laboratory.
  • Double check their work and assure all data is in the case correctly.
  • Maintains data entry requirements by following data program techniques and procedures.
  • Verifies entered customer and insurance data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or reentering data.
  • Contacts customer/clinic directly to validate incomplete information.
  • Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Prepares requisitions to be filed daily.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.
  • This role works with PHI on a regular basis both in paper and electronic form and have an access to various technologies to access PHI (paper and electronic) in order to perform the job
  • Employee must complete training relating to HIPAA/PHI privacy, General Policies and procedure Compliance training and security training as soon as possible but not later than the first 30 days of hire.
  • Must maintain a current status on Natera training requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Organization, Typing, Data Entry Skills, Attention to Detail, Confidentiality, Thoroughness, Decision Making, Independence, Analyzing Information, Results Driven, Energy Level, At least 1 year of insurance experience is a plus


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:


  • Required
  • High School Diploma
  • GED
  • Preferred Bachelor's degree, or equivalent in Healthcare, Marketing, or Business related field
  • At least 1 year of insurance experience is a plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Duties are typically performed in an office setting. This position requires the ability to use a computer keyboard, communicate over the telephone and read printed material. Duties may require working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends) at times.
