Apopka Department Head (m/f/d) of the "Museum / Hands-on Learning" Department
(Tenure Track / Full-time or close to full-time part-time)

As the department head of the Senckenberg Museum in Görlitz, you will be responsible for the further development and operation of the museum, which currently receives up to visitors per year, as well as for the associated functional areas.

Your tasks will include overall planning of exhibition development, participation in the "Senckenberg Solution Labs" team with a focus on hands-on learning, organization of education and outreach at the museum, coordination of communication including media design and visitor services, further development of the vivarium as part of the exhibitions, and reorientation of the Natural Science Library for researchers, students, and citizens.

The Senckenberg Museum in Görlitz is one of four museums of the Senckenberg Society for Nature Research and an essential part of our communication and transfer activities.

The development of the museum department, which you will be responsible for, therefore makes an important contribution to the Senckenberg program areas of "Science & Society" and "Research".
