The Northshire Rescue Squad, Inc.

is a 501(c)(3) ambulance service located in Manchester, Vermont and provides 24-hour Emergency Medical Service to residents and visitors of the Northshire.


Position Summary:


Responsibilities:

-
Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

Audits/Reviews: Assist outside accountants with audits, reviews and other financial reporting as needed.

Banking: Regularly reconcile and maintain consistency between bank accounts and accounting systems.

Payroll: Perform payroll functions in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Regularly reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Generate financial reports and provide regular updates on the company's financial status.
  • Process and record financial transactions, including debits and credits.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather financial data for reporting purposes.
  • Perform account reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Maintain organized and uptodate financial records, including general ledgers, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Regularly process and distribute mail to the appropriate individual within NRS.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information and adhere to company policies.

Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 35 years' experience in bookkeeping, preferable including work with a nonprofit organization.
  • Proficient in accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiently use QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, MS Office Suite and tools to streamline financial processes, generate reports, and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
  • Ability to be flexible, multitask and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast pace environment.
  • Strong knowledge of debits, credits, and general ledger entries.
  • Ability to perform account analysis and reconcile financial records.
  • Familiarity with financial report writing.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
