Description

The
Department of Pediatrics at Nemours Children's Hospital Delaware is seeking a Research Grants Development Manager to oversee and facilitate grant development activities in the department, serve as a vital primary resource for investigators throughout the grant submission process, and collaborate with the office of sponsored projects and research administration to ensure sound management of all pre-award processes.

This position will be responsible for developing best practices and serve on various work groups to ensure the needs of investigators are met in the creation of new policies and procedures.

The position will also supervise Grants Development Specialists to ensure all grant development activities are properly aligned with Nemours policies and procedures.


Qualifications:


  • Experience with project management and/or grant support/administration required.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
  • CRA or CPRA and/or CFRA preferred.

Essential Duties:


  • Serve as the primary resource for identifying funding opportunities on behalf of PIs or Department/Program which includes leveraging tools and resources to ensure proper awareness and follow up on grant opportunities.
  • Advise and collaborate with PIs on strategies to enhance research activity, including weekly review of RFAs from the NIH and individual institutes as appropriate.
  • Act as the point person throughout grant preparation to communicate information to and from the Principal Investigator, research team, sponsor, Office of Sponsored Programs, administrative directors, and finance team.
  • Collaborate with the Office of Sponsored Projects to ensure all documents are in the correct format and all necessary signatures and approvals have been obtained.
  • Assist PI with budget development, including personnel and nonpersonnel costs.
  • Obtain needed documents from subcontractors and help to initiate agreements.
  • Provide nontechnical writing, formatting, and editing support, inclusive of budget justifications, biographical sketches, institutional background descriptions, references, appendices, and other proposal documents.
  • Complete and compile other required grant documents, from prime and sub sites, including references, appendices, and planned enrollment tables.
  • Collate current and pending information required by sponsors for Just-InTime requests.
  • Advise and collaborate with postaward team to ensure efficient handoff and sound management of postaward services as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with sponsor guidelines and OMB Uniform Guidance during the grant development process.
  • Identify and resolve concerns related to each grant proposal.
  • Develop training and education programs related to the highest quality proposal development.
  • Lead the development of grantsmanship resources and tools to position faculty for success in pursuing grant funding.
  • Supervise, onboard, and train Grants Development Specialists.
