    Overview

    *This opportunity is for Summer 2024*

    The Merchandising Intern is responsible for supporting the Merchandising team in the development, execution, and analysis of merchandising strategies. You will work closely with the Merchandising team to ensure that product assortments are optimized and that the company's sales goals are met. The Merchandising Intern will report directly to one of the Category Buyers. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is interested in pursuing a career in merchandising.

    Duties and Responsibilities
    • Assist in the development of merchandising plans and strategies
    • Participate in the selection of product assortments for different store locations
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing and operations, to ensure seamless execution of merchandising initiatives
    • Provide general support to the merchandising team as needed
    Qualifications and Requirements
    • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in merchandising, marketing, or related field
    • Passion for the western lifestyle and fashion industry
    • An interest in western retail
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • A great attitude and willingness to learn and ask questions
    • High integrity with the ability to represent Cavender's in a highly respectful and positive manner
    • Ability to interpret documents
    • Ability to understand the meanings of words and effectively respond
    • Ability to comprehend complex issues and communicate
    • Based in Tyler, TX at our home office
    Preferred Skills
    • Possesses excellent problem solving, critical thinking, presentation and communication skills.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Action oriented with ability to prioritize and drive results.
    • Ability to work individually on a project or within a team environment.
    • Ability to handle high pressure/stressful situations in a professional manner
