As a Materials Characterization Technician, you'll gain exposure to the additive manufacturing industry, hands-on experience with materials characterization methods, and a background in metal processing.
You will work on a multidisciplinary team of materials, mechanical, and automation engineers and build skills in test design, data management and analysis, and report writing.
Responsibilities:
- Perform compositional and microstructural analysis of samples
- Analyze and interpret analytical data
- Keep samples and data organized
- Report daily progress and any setbacks that occurred
- Assist and communicate with other team members
- Maintain a clean lab area
- Follow established SOPs
- Provide recommendations for improvement of characterization methods and processes
- Conduct internal studies and research
- Experience in chemical or materials laboratories
- Interest in materials characterization and analysis techniques
- Ability to operate under mínimal supervision
- Able to follow detailed process steps
- Ability to analyze and interpret data
- Able to organize and store data
- Able to write analytical reports
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Desire to work in a team environment
- Lift up to 40 lbs unassisted
- Able to use equipment to assist in lifting heavy loads
- Experience in operating analytical instruments such as XRF, SEM, or other instruments
- Experience in developing and improving test methods
- This is an inperson (with potentially some remote work) position at our Leominster, MA facility you must be able to provide your own transportation
- Must be able to work a consistent schedule each week
