THE POSITION:

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:


  • As a Corrections Food Service Instructor, you will lead the inmates through onthejob vocational training in food service operations. You can expect to provide instruction to inmates by assigning, participating in, and reviewing routine and specialized tasks performed by inmates in the areas of food preparation and production, service, and baking. In this position, you will enforce custody and security regulations to ensure proper control over inmates. Additionally, you will inspect all food service areas, equipment, and food for conformance with established safety and sanitation standards.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Fulltime employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with rotating days off.
  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY:


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:


  • Two years of experience in food preparation, production, or service of a variety of complete meal menus in an institutional food service operation, food catering service, restaurant, or in a similar largescale food production operation;
    or:
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:


  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:


  • You must pass a background investigation.
