***: The Mill Shop Fabricator plays a crucial role in ensuring safety, maintaining cleanliness, and optimizing production efficiency. Responsibilities include fabricating doors for counters, completing various fabrication tasks, and operating hand-held tools. They also assemble custom configurations of millwork and cladded units according to Shop Drawings, while assisting other Fabricators as needed. Additionally, they conduct personal quality checks, communicate inventory levels, equipment issues, discrepancies in Shop Drawings, and ideas for process improvements to supervisors.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


  • Engage in safety, quality, and production efforts.
  • Maintain a clean and organized Mill Shop.
  • Convey welded frames from Metal shop to Mill shop and return completed fabrication work to Metal Shop or Warehouse as per "Shop to Warehouse" procedures.
  • Retrieve empty carts to Shops.
  • Fabricate doors for counters by utilizing panel saw, roller, bander, SawStop and hinge drill.
  • Complete jobs through sawing, drilling, gluing, filing, fastening, etc
  • Operate handheld tools such as files, drills, drivers, and sanders/grinders.
  • Assemble and fabricate custom configurations of millwork and cladded units as per Shop Drawings.
  • Assist Mill Shop Fabricators II with assembly and fabrication of custom counters.
  • Polish Corian counter tops.
  • Flex to Metal Shop when needed to assist Fabricators with cleaning, organizing, bending, notching or whatever is necessary to maintain the proper production flow.
  • Perform a personal quality check on your work before passing work to next station.
  • Communicate low levels of product inventory to Mill Shop Team Leader or Fabrication Supervisor.
  • Communicate any equipment issues to Mill Shop Team Leader or Fabrication Supervisor.
  • Communicate discrepancies or questions on Shop Drawings to Mill Shop Team Leader or Fabrication Supervisor.
  • Communicate ideas for process / product improvements to Mill Shop Team Leader or Fabrication Supervisor.

SPECIFIC EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE:


  • Comply with all Employer and OSHA Safety Guidelines.
  • Provide regular and predictable attendance, safely perform tasks and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of this job.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to be selfmotivated with little supervision.
  • Ability to communicate with Team members in Shop or other departments to explain problems or issues.
  • Ability to read and interpret Shop Drawings.
  • Possess a working knowledge of the use and operation of all equipment in the Mill Shop including but not limited to Panel Saw, Table Saws, Bander and Band Saw.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks that require bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Lifting and carrying objects weighing up to a certain weight (specify weight if needed) for various fabrication tasks.
  • Utilization of handheld tools such as files, drills, drivers, and sanders/grinders, requiring manual dexterity and strength.
  • Operation of machinery and equipment including panel saws, rollers, banders, SawStop, and hinge drills, necessitating proper training and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Flexibility to move between Metal and Mill Shops, which may involve walking and transporting materials or products using carts.
  • Precision and attention to detail in fabricating custom configurations of millwork and cladded units according to Shop Drawings.
  • Physical effort involved in polishing Corian countertops and assisting with various tasks in the Metal Shop as needed.
  • Communication of inventory levels, equipment issues, and discrepancies in Shop Drawings to supervisors, requiring clear verbal communication.
  • Ability to assess and communicate ideas for process or product improvements to enhance overall efficiency and quality within the Mill Shop.

Pay:
$ $23.00 per hour
