***- Under the direction of the Director of Facilities the Security Manager is responsible for the management, planning and monitoring of the organization's safety programs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Overseeing the Environment of Care (EOC) rounding programs & management plans per TJC/CMS standards.
Chairs the Environment of Care Committee (EOCC), ensures department managers evaluate & conduct performance reviews of management plans annually.
Works with education on annual skills training of emergency management and preparedness.
Works with Compliance and Risk Management Departments
Serves as the Hospital Safety Officer ensuring a safe environment for hospital's patients, visitors and staff.
Oversees the Security Department ensuring security is up to date on all required training, screening, security assessments, and life safety responsibilities.
Oversees Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management Programs, ensuring the hospital is in a state of readiness.
Supports the Director of Facilities with operations and HCAI projects.
Supports ancillary service departments Facilities, Dietary, EVS, Respiratory, Laboratory, Volunteers with process improvements and select projects.
Supports the Director of Facilities with supporting outlying clinics and facilities programs.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

Minimum (required)

Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent

Work Experience

Minimum (required)

Minimum of five years of management experience in healthcare Safety Operation
Working knowledge of TJC Standards, CDPH regulations, CMS regulations, CCR Titles 8,17, 19, 22, & 24, NFPA standards 7 FEMA regulations.

Licenses and Certifications

Minimum (required)

Valid CA Driver's License
HICS

Preferred (Not required)

FEMA Disaster Management IS100, IS200, IS700 preferred.
M.A.B certification required. New hires must be obtained within 6months of hire.
Must enroll in project management course within 6 months of hire.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities (SKA's)

Capable of mature and independent judgement. Must demonstrate ability in written communication and verbal communication and effective interpersonal skills.
