Lake County Information Technology is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager.


As a member of the Enterprise Technology Solutions Team, the IT Project Manager should help add value to Lake County's technology investments through the proper planning and management of enterprise and department technology related projects and implementations.

This enthusiastic, self-motivated individual will be part of a team-oriented environment under moderate supervision.


Essential Functions:

Depending on the assignment, the incumbent may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties, and perform related duties as assigned:

  • Establish a scalable and flexible project management methodology to foster consistent, effective, and efficient project execution
  • Educate, train, and coach others on project, program, and portfolio management
  • Within individual projects facilitate and manage organizational change, manage risks, conduct financial analyses, and establish and manage prioritization processes
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about progress, adjustments, and strategy
  • Facilitate/conduct business process analysis and design/redesign
  • Effectively establish and manage stakeholder relationships and expectations
  • Execute competitive selection processes for products or services
  • Manage vendor relationship and contracts

Knowledge Skills Abilities and Education Required:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills, with a variety of audiences
  • Excellent teambuilding, time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of project/program/portfolio management methodology and strategy
  • Proven ability in managing difficult and/or sensitive situations and functioning in a matrix environment
  • Proven ability to predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office products and Project Professional
  • Highly selfmotivated and directed
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline

Education and/or Other Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in business, technology, or related field or equivalent experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • 58 years of project management or related experience
  • Ability to constantly adapt, learn, and support new methodologies

Physical Requirements:


  • Requires mainly office work, involving standing or walking some of the time, exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular basis, and high dexterity in operating office equipment, including a keyboard, phone, copier, etc.
  • The position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision and the ability to hear and speak to understand, respond to and build relationships with a diverse clientele.
