DESCRIPTION

  • Most days will be spent in the Michael Baker International office working on transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Utilize GIS software as tool for developing solutions to complex planning problems.
  • Provide maps and data sets using GIS software and related equipment to clients to supplement analysis.
  • Gather, analyze and integrate spatial data and determine the best way to generate and display information using GIS.
  • Compile geographic data from a variety of sources including censuses, field observation, satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and existing maps.
  • Analyze spatial data for geographic statistics to incorporate into documents and reports.
  • May involve language reviews of documents for proofreading documentation for proper spelling, grammar, and continuity.
  • Support floodplain studies, urban design projects, master plans, and revitalization projects of varying sizes and complexities in diverse communities.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Geography or similar field.
years of experience with geographic concepts and/or GIS software (Esri ArcPro, ArcMap, QGIS, etc.) and their extensions/plugins

  • Organized, determined, reliable, productive, meticulous, accurate, and able to review and correct your own work.
  • Excellent English language skills, written and verbal, are essential to long term success in this role.
  • You'll need to be able to quickly get up to speed on our policy, procedures and relevant software.
  • Microsoft Office suite and CAD Drafting (MicroStation, AutoCAD, OpenRoads Designer).
  • Experience with scripting (python, R, VB, VB, git, etc.) preferred.

COMPENSATION
The approximate compensation range for this position is $52,601 to $71,783. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
