DESCRIPTION

Most days will be spent in the Michael Baker International office working on transportation infrastructure projects.
Utilize GIS software as tool for developing solutions to complex planning problems.
Provide maps and data sets using GIS software and related equipment to clients to supplement analysis.
Gather, analyze and integrate spatial data and determine the best way to generate and display information using GIS.
Compile geographic data from a variety of sources including censuses, field observation, satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and existing maps.
Analyze spatial data for geographic statistics to incorporate into documents and reports.
May involve language reviews of documents for proofreading documentation for proper spelling, grammar, and continuity.
Support floodplain studies, urban design projects, master plans, and revitalization projects of varying sizes and complexities in diverse communities.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Geography or similar field.

years of experience with geographic concepts and/or GIS software (Esri ArcPro, ArcMap, QGIS, etc.) and their extensions/plugins

Organized, determined, reliable, productive, meticulous, accurate, and able to review and correct your own work.
Excellent English language skills, written and verbal, are essential to long term success in this role.
You'll need to be able to quickly get up to speed on our policy, procedures and relevant software.
Microsoft Office suite and CAD Drafting (MicroStation, AutoCAD, OpenRoads Designer).
Experience with scripting (python, R, VB, VB, git, etc.) preferred.

COMPENSATION
The approximate compensation range for this position is $52,601 to $71,783. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
