This position is responsible for the success and oversight of all students and out-of-school youth services.

The primary responsibility is to increase school to work transition for HS students with disabilities and increase awareness of Abilities services including Pre-ETS, Center for Adult Transition at Warren Community College (CAT), Project Search, Star and Out of School Youth Services.

This position will be responsible for educating school systems and families about the vocational and employment opportunities Abilities has to offer students.

The Youth Services Manager will provide communication between personnel, caregivers, and provider staff within and outside the agency. This position will also provide supervision of personnel and coordination of all transition and out of school youth services.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for the oversight and supervision of Pre-Employment Transition Services, Out of School Youth, Center for Adult Transition, and STAR programs. (Internship opportunity)
  • Outreach and initiate contacts with area school districts and promoting service options.
  • Participate in IEP's and make decisions about what happens post graduation and what transition services can be offered during the transition process.
  • Communicate with families and students about Abilities' program options and provide information on eligibility criteria and procedures for program entry.
  • Develop understanding of community resources and student rights under the law
  • Track students' activities including data on success of transition and post-graduation outcomes.
  • Maintain good working relationships across counties and with governmental agencies and community organizations.
  • Market and coordinate student internship program with area school districts, personnel, and the local business community.
  • Assist team with teaching employability skills as needed.
  • Submit State vouchers, coordinate billings and reports as needed and on a timely basis.
  • Actively engage in supporting students with wrap around services, including resumes, job placement, internships and linkages to federal, state and community resources.
  • Monitor quality of services for youth and student transition services and participate in quality improvement team, CARF and stakeholder documentation.
  • Monitor and evaluate youth service personnel's work performance, document and address issues, as necessary.
  • Assist the COO with information for grant submissions.
  • Attends conferences, seminars, and training relevant to the position and to the individuals served.
  • Comply with the agency's Ethical Conduct Policy.
  • Perform other functions as they relate to the well-being of the agency at the request of CEO/COO and senior management.

EDUCATION AND LICENSES:

  • Bachelor's degree in human services or related field preferred and two years' supervisory experience or High School Diploma with 5 years' experience in the human services field including at least 3 years supervisory experience and 1 year experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
  • Valid driver's license and driving record in good standing.

Pay:
$46, $50,000.00 per year
