- Adheres to established rules and regulations of the plantation while working scheduled shifts.
- Deliver food orders from the kitchen to customers' tables rapidly and accurately
- Act as the contact point between Front of the House and Back of the House staff
- Communicate food orders to chefs, paying attention to priorities and special requests (e.g. food allergies)
- Assist the wait staff with table setting by fetching and placing appropriate tableware, eating utensils and napkins
- Ensure food is served in accordance with safety standards (e.g. proper temperature)
- Check in with customers and take additional orders or refill water, as needed
- Remove dirty dishes and utensils
- Answer guests' questions about ingredients and menu items
- Inform restaurant staff about customers' feedback or requests (e.g. when they ask for the check)
- Make sure families with young children get kids menus and special silverware sets
- Knowledge of Plantation information (hours of operation, etc.).
- Practices and demonstrates good "Teamwork".
- Maintains positive attitude with all staff and members. Avoid all negative comments.
- Maintains a well groomed appearance and proper cleaned, pressed uniform at all times.
- Advises dining room supervisor or manager of any complaints immediately.
- Completes all daily side duty assignments.
- Knowledge of role during emergency situations. Aware of fire and life safety procedures.
- Because of the fluctuating demands of the Club's operation, it may be necessary that each Employee perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your job, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other Employees are expected to help you. Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks as needed or as directed.
- Adhere to all of the various written mandatory standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos, oral instructions, etc., all of which go to make up the essential functions of the job.
- Responsible for the completion of additional duties as assigned periodically by the Managers
- Responsible for attendance at all Service Training Meetings
- Capable of working extended hours, to include weekends and holidays as necessary.
- Able to see well enough to read faint or partially obscured writing or printing, with corrective lenses if needed.
- Must be able to speak English in a clear and understandable voice so that various types of communications may be conducted with people of various levels of education and capabilities.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment
- Position involves kneeling, stooping, bending, pushing, shoving, lifting, carrying and moving objects that can weigh up to 50 lbs. This can occur throughout the day.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, bending, reaching, and the ability to carry trays of food weighing 25-50 pounds at times is required.
- Must be able to interact with all types of individuals, be mentally alert, detail oriented, and with good reasoning skills.
- Must be able to transport oneself throughout the property.
- Must have sufficient mathematical skills to accommodate cashier functions.
- Must be able to work on more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions, changes and delays. Must be able to remain focused and work effectively, efficiently and cheerfully under such circumstances.
- Must be able to work effectively and cheerfully in an environment which may be stressful due to adversarial situations resulting from the proper performance of duties.
- This position will alternate between working indoors in a controlled climate and with proper lighting to an outdoors setting with variable climate and lighting.
- Must be able to adapt to the climate with marked changes in temperature from the heat in the kitchen area to the cold of refrigerated areas.
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred and one to three years related experience and/or training in fine dining atmosphere; and working knowledge of wine, spirits, and food; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills a must.
- Image must be professional and well-suited to a high-volume, service activity.
