Niyam IT is looking for a Security Engineer to join our team in support of our work with TSA. This position is full time, with potential for overtime, and allows for remote work.
Roles and Responsibilities
As a Security Engineer, you will help ensure the security of TSA's human capital technology solution and the privacy of its customers.
Combining security and system engineering backgrounds, you will manage the proper configuration of business processes to align with TSA and Federal cybersecurity standards and best practices.
Activities include documenting and managing vulnerabilities and issues through POAMs, documenting and implementing security controls, working with government ISOs to understand security processes and methodologies, and supporting accreditation milestones.
You will have the opportunity to work across multiple technologies in agile team setup and will collaborate with functional analysts and client users.
Documentation and management of security issues and standards - 60%.Investigations and troubleshooting/analysis of security issues - 20%.Security control implementation - 10%.Reporting of status and interacting with customer ISOs - 10%.
Qualification and Education Requirements:
Required Skills
Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain a DHS TSA Clearance.
Bachelor's degree.
Experience in large and complex IT projects, preferably in the Human Capital space, 5+ years.
Experience with security incident/problem/change management and reporting, 3+ years.
Experience with supporting ATOs for Federal agencies, 3+ years.
Proven experience and knowledge of NIST and Federal ATO processes.
Proven ability to learn and adopt new technologies.
