The B. F. Saul Company concentrates on ownership, development, and construction of commercial real estate.

The Residential Market Analyst will oversee and analyze market research data in the Washington area multifamily sector.

This position will focus on self-conducted research and industry reporting to thoroughly understand development trends, absorption rates, operating expenses and rental rates within targeted multifamily market segments.

This position will produce monthly and quarterly market reports to inform acquisition and development decisions. Additionally this position will analyze and compare operating trends within the current owned portfolio to the overall market.


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Research and analyze market data from industry sources and selfgenerated research focusing on apartment supply within specific submarkets and the overall Washington area multifamily sector
  • Develop research collateral that will provide broad and targeted coverage within the Washington area multifamily sector including supply/demand fundamentals, demographic trends and economic performance
  • Lead market surveys to determine effective rental rates by asset class within specific submarkets
  • Proactively interpret, deliver and leverage information and products that demonstrate market knowledge
  • Provide statistical support and market evidence to validate the organization's current investment focus
  • Report on economic trends
  • Review and assist in the completion and management of operating budgets
  • Provide analytical support for targeted expense control and revenue optimization initiatives within the portfolio
  • Assist in the preparation of regular financial reports
  • Be a resource for the onsite teams to ensure consistent implementation of our policies and procedures

Job Requirements (Skills & Abilities):


  • Detailoriented, analytical, zeroerror aptitude with respect to numerical data
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Effective communicator
  • Selfstarter with strong curiosity and desire to learn
  • Knowledge of real estate terms, basic economics and basic accounting a plus
  • Networking within the Real Estate industry to leverage partnerships

Experience:


  • Minimum of 23 years of relevant job experience, researchorientation roles a plus, no more than 5 years of experience

Education / Licenses / Certifications:


  • Undergraduate Degree in related field or equivalent experience

Desirable Qualifications:


  • Strong proficiency in Excel
  • Proficient verbal and writing skills
  • Detailoriented individual
  • Analytical and intellectual curiosity in Real Estate industry
  • Zeroerror aptitude with respect to numerical data
